The Building Change Trust, with the help of Slugger O’Toole, are hosting a series of Digital Lunches, discussing social innovation in the Northern Ireland.

Tuesday 23rd October will see the first of six online panel discussions that will take place over the next three weeks. The second will take place on Thursday 25th, with the Tuesday and Thursday of the following two weeks seeing its Digital Lunch.

This opening event is titled ‘Innovation for Social Change’ and will set the agenda for the discussions following it.

Each event will take place at 1pm for an hour and will have its own clear and discrete focus within the overarching subject of social innovation.

The discussions will hope to answer some of the tricky questions surrounding Social Innovation, as well as, attempting to define the term itself.

Trust Administrator Nigel McKinney said: “Social Innovation is one of those catch all terms we all think we know what we mean when we use it, but can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

“Building Change Trust is keen to hear from people who are working both inside and outside Northern Ireland”.

Hosted using Google’s social media service Google +, are a series of online video conferences where a panel of experts will discuss social innovation and its increasing importance.

Google +’s ‘Hangouts’ make this video conferencing quick, easy and, most importantly, interactive with attendees able to post comments on the discussion, as well as questions to the panel, in real time.

As well as the fully interactive experience, you can also take part in the event by following the discussion as it is streams live on YouTube.
