Registration opens for seminar on Co-operatives and Community Benefit Societies

21 August 2014

Registration has now opened for a free masterclass which will teach participants how to set up, develop and grow co-operatives.

The seminar entitled Co-operatives and Community Benefit Societies will be taking place as part of the Community Shares, Ready! Project, commissioned by the Building Change Trust.

Co-operative Alternatives in collaboration with Jo Bird, a specialist practitioner with 20 years’ experience in developing co-operatives, will be delivering the session.

It is aimed at providing the most up to date information on Industrial and Provident Societies and sharing resources on successful co-operative business and financial models.

The seminar will allow participants to gain knowledge on bona fide co-operatives and community benefit societies, understand the co-operative business model and the co-operative advantage, access practical examples of successful co-operatives and community benefit societies.

Business advisors and development officers who provide legal, financial and business support to organisations in the Third Sector are also welcome.

This training session will take place from 10am until 1pm on 28th August at the North West Social Enterprise HUB. Lunch will be included.
