Meet the Grantees - CCWA
The CCWA (Northern Ireland) believes that the process of community development work is the most empowering and enabling way for the Church to express its beliefs in action and mission.

Meet the Grantees - CCWA

27 June 2014

Eddie McDowell, the Churches’ Community Work Alliance (CCWA), continues our series on the work of our Collaboration Enabling Fund with his story.

The Churches’ Community Work Alliance (NI) promotes and supports church related and community related development work. It also oversees the Community Faiths Forum for Northern Ireland which brings other faiths together to address social issues within local communities. Our Linc Programme focuses on peace and reconciliation work.

“We received £4,400 from the Collaboration Enabling Fund. It was one of our Board members who advised us regarding this fund and we applied through the Building Change Trust.

“The grant is enabling us to review our policies, procedures, job descriptions and review our operational plan in relation to Linc merging with CCWA (NI).  CCWA (NI) sent out tenders and Sector Matters was successful in securing this work.

“We have found it very helpful and beneficial working in collaboration with Sector Matters and it is through the Collaboration Enabling Fund which we have been able to place our organisation in a stronger, healthier position”.
