New Awards Programmes launched

The Building Trust today launched two new awards programmes , Exploring Change and Deliver Change to help the Northern Ireland community and voluntary sector deal with changing times.

Both programmes are aimed at supporting and harnessing the innovation of the sector as it grapples with the impact of the recession, increased competition, reduction in funding and looming governance changes in Northern Ireland.

Exploring Change will make 60 awards of up to £20,000 for exploratory work within the sector. Whilst Deliver Change will make 20 awards of around £50,000 for work to implement change.

The awards will not be traditional grants in that the Trust will require recipients to spend significant time working with the Trust to share learning from their work with it and the rest of the community and voluntary sector. Through this the Trust hopes to identify projects which demonstrate to the rest of the sector how change can take place and contribute to the ongoing development of the sector.
