Charity Bank make progress with award from Trust

Charity Bank have made an excellent start with activity resourced through the Building Change Trust and are set to deliver a very successful initiative in the coming months and years.

Consideration of the first quarterly report submitted to the Trust which is available here shows that since 1 November 2010 the Bank has generated £415,011 in deposits, had loan enquiries of more than £2 million and successfully delivered the first of a series of three investment readiness seminars. Additionally the Bank is on the cusp of tendering for the development and delivery of an accredited investment readiness programme for community and voluntary organisations in Northern Ireland.

The Trust Administrator Nigel McKinney explained that the progress to date is indicative of the need and demand for alternative financing in the current climate and his expectation that Charity Bank would continue to successfully deliver an effective project addressing the evolving needs of community and voluntary organisations in Northern Ireland.
