Building Change Trust sets out exciting new agenda.

Building Change Trust Directors met in December 2011 to consider their future strategy and programmes to support change in the sector in the coming years.

Marking the end of the first 3 years of work carried out by the Trust in delivering change in Northern Ireland, new and exciting initiatives were considered by Trust directors and these will be announced in the coming weeks.

Crucially, Trust Directors also decided to discontinue the Exploring Change and Deliver Change Award programmes, as originally conceived.

Despite these changes, innovative change and development in the community and voluntary sector in Northern Ireland will continue to be supported by the Trust, with ongoing analysis and examination of how best this might be done.

Substantial progress has been made across a number of the Trust’s projects including the development of Collaboration NI, the establishment of a permanent loan fund for Northern Ireland by Charity Bank, as well as individual and collaborative work by the Trust’s original bid partners.

A range of organisations, such as The Fermanagh Trust, Mencap, Forthspring Intercommunity Group and Gingerbread have received Phase 1 and 2 awards under the Trust’s Exploring Change and Deliver Change Programmes.

Confidence is high that new initiatives by the Trust will be even more suitable in capturing and providing support for innovative change in the sector in the coming years.
