Building Change Trust outlines next steps

Speaking to hundreds of delegates at the "Working Towards a Way Forward" conference held in Belfast on 25 March, , the Chairperson of the Building Change Trust Bill Osborne provided an update on the Trust's progress to date and a flavour of future plans.

Bill in his address to the delegates explained the structure of the Trust and the allocation of £1.2 million of funds to the original bid partners. He went on to consider the programmes proposed for the period 2010 - 2013 and outlined the Trust's aims to invest in the community and voluntary sector for positive change.

The proposals include 2 awards programmes to enable organisations explore and deliver change, the investment of funds to help create a permanent loan fund for the community and voluntary sector and the commissioning of a significant project to assist the sector explore and deal with the posisbilities in respect of collaboration, partnership and mergers.

In closing Bill asked representatives to attend the information sessions organised during May which will explain the programmes further.
